Informational Report

People are going hungry. Year after year, the allocation and distribution of funds to government-led food and nutrition assistance programs have remained at a deadlock without meeting the vital need of expansion and growth of such programs. This report uses preliminary data from USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) and Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) to examine program trends in the largest U.S. food and nutrition assistance programs through FY 2020 and documents the many policy changes implemented.

Going further, this report aims to bring public awareness to the responsibility that lawmakers and policymakers have in order to help our fellow citizens. Inaction, or worse, malicious intent, is causing our very own neighbors and neighbors children to feel the pain of an empty stomach.
